New wine from Montescudario to replace Bolgheri!

The vineyards coverover 13,5 hectares in three different plots. The red varieties are Ciliegiolo, Sangiovese, Teroldego, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, and the white are Vermentino and Fiano. The plant density is 5,500 vines per hectare, and were planted with the Guyot system (cordon-trained and spur-pruned). All the varieties are cultivated on at least two plots with soils of different types and composition. Once the grapes from each plot have reached optimal ripeness, they are harvested and vinified separately. Each plot gives a wine with a distinctive character and unique personality. The ageing in steel, oak or cement then enhances these characteristics.

Production area of Montecdio DOC

The Satoru winery began by analyzing the unique geology and microclimate of the land. Located in the upper Tuscan Maremma, about 30 km southwest of Pisa, the land has belonged to the owner Moscardini family for almost two centuries. Part of the land is close to the village of Pomaia and is part of the Montecdio DOC production area.
