Producing Only Syrah
We use only one grape variety, Syrah. We have explored every interpretation and variation of this wonderful grape variety, resulting in four different red Syrah wines.
By varying the harvest time, vinification methods, length of maceration, and aging containers, we have created passionate and dynamic Dionisio Syrah wines.
More recently, we have planted a small parcel of Viognier and have begun producing two white wines as well.
The Terroir of Cortona
This region of southeastern Tuscany is considered an enclave of French influence on the land of Sangiovese, and Cortona’s terroir characteristics and unique climate are the perfect conditions for Syrah to thrive.
The special care and attention required to cultivate Syrah, when grown with care, will yield the finest quality.” This is why from the very beginning the winery firmly believed in the potential of this grape and its excellent results.
It is in this wonderful tenoire that Cortona Syrah is made today as the undisputed best wine of Italy.
The voice from the winery
Each year the Dionisio winery aims to produce a bottle of authentic terroir that accurately and honestly expresses the vintage of the year.
We want to create wines that can convey the colors, sounds, aromas, and unique and unrepeatable characteristics of that vintage, whether it be autumn rains, winter frosts, hot summer days or cool nights. This desire is the taste of the winery’s Cortona Syrah, which is made in its vineyards and according to the rhythms of nature.
