The vineyards tailored in Spars Cordon, Guyot, and Silvoz have thin layers of currant (calcium carbonate) and mainly clay surface soils, both originating from alluvial deposits deposited by the nearby Livenza and Tagliamento rivers.
These topographies have good water retention, high mineral content (potassium, calcium, magnesium, etc.), and a good balance of organic matter.
The land of the Ornella Bellia winery is protected from the neighboring mountains, the climate is mild due to the sea breezes from the Adriatic Sea, and the flat terrain means that the vineyards are constantly exposed to the local winds.
From the northeast, a fresh, dry wind, the bora, blows, and from the southeast, a warm, moist sirocco blows all year round. These winds blow mainly in the evening, cooling the temperatures at night and keeping the daytime temperatures constant. This wind helps ripen the perfect aromas, resulting in extremely elegant wines.
